Besides Weddings

October 27, 2010

I do photograph other types of sessions. Here is just a smattering of some of the shoots I’ve been on lately. First up, I met up with Brynne in the East Village for some headshots. Brynne just finished up a run in Dead White Males at the Tongue In Cheek Theater and I can’t wait to hear what she is up to next!

I also met up recently with Claire, who was also in need of a few headshots and lifestyle photos. I really love taking photos of kids this age. In a former life, I had studied to be an art teacher and I would have loved, loved, loved to teach middle school!

I also met up with Noah and Valerie to take some photos of Valerie and her perfectly round baby belly! I have to say, after having Thea, I have a whole new level of understanding about pregnancy and the excitement behind those who are expecting a little one. I cannot WAIT to take more maternity photos. I just love pregnant women…and kinda miss it myself!

And what comes from pregnancy? A FAMILY! Here is a family session I did back when the weather was warmer. Such a good looking group, no?

Cynthia’s Maternity Session

November 18, 2009

First things first, I want to say thank you to everyone that commented with their excitement, well wishes, and congratulations yesterday! It filled us with total joy reading all the comments here on the blog, Twitter, and Facebook! Like I said yesterday, Kyle and I are so completely over the moon and can’t wait to get our “family on.” So, thanks again for all the kind words.

While we were down in Philadelphia this past weekend, I had a little mini-maternity session taken by one of my besties, Cynthia That-Cacopardo of that girl photography. Two of her lovely pictures of me and my prego belly are below. But besides Cynthia taking photos of me, I was there to take some maternity photos of her! Yup, we are going through this craziness called pregnancy together, and I couldn’t be more thrilled that her and Joel are going to be parents soon!

But, I also have to be honest. It’s never easy taking pictures of another photographer! You just want every photo to be beyond awesome. But I think we got some lovely photos and Cynthia and I just had fun lounging around their bedroom (hello, yummy afternoon light!) and afterward, we all walked down to the end of their block and found some open space for picky’s with Dad-to-be, Joel (hello yummy sunset light)!
