About
Hi, everybody! I’m Kimberly Hurst.

Just a few things “about me”:
I’ve been married for four years to my husband, Kyle.
He’s pretty much the raddest guy I know.
And this April we welcomed our daughter, Thea, into the world.
She’s pretty much the raddest girl I know!
My favorite colors are red and aqua.
I heart sushi.
I have 3 sisters and no brothers.
Kyle has been known to refer to me and my sisters as being able to form like Voltron.
So yes, we are real close.
I love music.
A glimpse at my current playlist will include:
The Tallest Man on Earth
Bob Dylan
Chromeo
The Avett Brothers
My Morning Jacket
Camera Obscura
Kings of Leon
Ryan Adams
The Faces
Fleetwood Mac
The Guillemots
The Kinks
We have two cats.
Their names are Dude and Sweet Pea.
We bought our first home two years ago and have been trying to prettify it since.
I have a serious magazine addiction.
Although it’s rare that I have the time to do it, I love knitting.
It’s my favorite pastime and I find it relaxing and highly rewarding when I actually complete a project.
I could watch “Say Anything” at least once a month without hesitation.
I love to laugh til I cry and I love other people who laugh too.
But even more than that, I love what I do and wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Being newly married, I understand the importance of photography in today’s weddings. The need for the photographer to blend into the day while still capturing those natural and special moments that you will cherish for years to come. I strive to capture you in your natural light while at the same time making you look your absolute best. You can be confident that trends in wedding photography will go from the pages of the magazines to your wall or coffee table. The warmth of the best moments will be preserved forever, and even when the smallest details get lost from your memory, the pictures taken will keep them as vivid as the moment they happened.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where are you based out of?
I live on Long Island, but consider Long Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens my “turf.”
2. Do you travel?
I sure do! I’ve been quite a few places so far for wedding and portrait work, and love to do it. So, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you are from somewhere other than the tri-state area. I would love to talk with you!
3. What equipment do you use?
I shoot with all Nikon gear, use Mac’s for editing, and I love Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Oh, and I shoot RAW too.
Some Love From Past Clients!
Kim has always been dedicated to making the photos realistic and have the images reflect the personality of the couple. I think that the most striking thing was that Kim was able to relax us and to make this space our own. Sometimes we would just look at her and ask “what’s next” and she would give small instructions and ideas to work with. Nate and I were flabbergasted with the outcome. We thought that we just looked so fantastic and love the colors that were around us. Nate hates that way that he looks in most photos and Kim was able to show how handsome he is. Kim obviously has fun with her photo sessions and this certainly comes out in her work.

I am speechless…The house, shots of the dress, and the makeup…I am reliving the day all over again every time I look at the photos. You are a very talented young lady (no surprise to me). And the black and whites, ohmygosh. I am so glad that you were able to shoot the wedding and even happier that you got to share this special day with all of us. Thank you again so very much. With love,
- Chris Kelly
