I figured I’d spend the night trying to educate myself on a new trend that’s out there right now. TEXTURES! There are lots of photographers applying layer upon layer of textures in their post-processing. And I am starting to really appreciate the look. I can say I had SO SO SO much fun playing with all this stuff in Photoshop tonight. Nothing too radical…it’s just one image and one texture layer, but it’s a start. I think I will be fiddling with a few more of my images in the days to come just to see how different I can make them feel. You truely can see some of your pictures in new light with a treatment like this. Offers up a whole new perspective! I downloaded this crackled looking texture off of Texture King. I will have to revisit and download some more!

September 27, 2007- Here’s a spinny camera picture of Kyle…intense in his reading of the Iams cat food labels. Again, about the cats! I’m trying to enjoy and do weird things with the little pocket Powershot I’m using this week. It’s been cool carrying it around (and a lot lighter) but I can’t wait to get my camera back. sigh.

September 26, 2007- I wonder if the last 15 days of the Project are going to be about the cats in my life. There’s been a plethora of kitty pictures lately, and I apologize.
But this here is my sisters newest addition, and her name is Daisy. Daisy has been wrecking havoc, but oh my god, the cuteness is unbearable!!
And it’s shots like this that have me missing my camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s bumming me out that I don’t think I will be able to finish the Project with my own camera. Yes, I will have my loaner back in a few days, but it’s not the same. It’s not my Baby.
PDN PhotoPlus Expo
I’m all signed up and heading over to PDN’s PhotoPlus Expo next month!
So, far I am sitting in on Kevin Kubota’s seminar, and if I can make a decision, possibly a second one as well. I hope to meet tons of great people, check out some awesome new products, and come home having learned a thing or two more about the biz!
